How It All Started

David and Stuart Kirk's grandparents and parents were farmers, as are their uncles and the boys were brought up on farms, working with animals and in particular with cattle. Not surprisingly, with their roots firmly in farming they gained a deep understanding of livestock and animal husbandry.

As young boys, David and Stuart had Saturday jobs in a local village butchers shop and once they had developed the skills and training the natural progression was that in 1983 they acquired their first shop at 327a Hale Road, Hale Barnes. In 1987 they opened a farm shop at Peacock Farm, Hollin Lane, Styal where David is now based, with Stuart remaining in Hale Barnes.

Both shops are in easy travelling distance from the towns and villages of Cheshire's 'golden triangle', Manchester City Centre, Manchester International Airport and the M56 and M6 motorways.

40 years on and we haven't changed a bit, we strive to source the best products from farms and growers on our doorstep
